About me
Graphics and any form of visual communication are the creative cousins of a spoken language. You could picture a good graphic design as the body language of your brand and your product.
Graphics have the power to influence our thoughts and emotions. Think about a brand name with handwriting Script typeface. It gives you that vibe of something informal and approachable, right? Interestingly, the same vibe can be directed using a more structured typeface as long as we find a way to break the uniformity and seriousness of that piece.
Why do I geek out about graphics in the 'About Me' section?
Well~ because I LOV~E graphic design! Prior to starting my own business(es), I had been a designer for 7 years. During these years, I was also a freelancer working on a few projects for companies like
Nike (Illustrations),
Keen (Technical Designer), and
Leatherman Tool Group (Product Designer).
For a few years under the collaborative curriculums of Pensole Academy with a focus on Graphics and Footwear Design, I also taught Abobe Illustrator and Photoshop classes at
New Balance (Massachusetts),
Design School Kolding (Denmark), and
Pacific Northwest College of Art (Oregon).
